Trailing Direct Drills

|
SEED DRILL HOPPERS
- Larger capacity seed hoppers (405L for 3.0m and 485L for 3.6m) therefore greater hectares covered between fills.
- Thicker material used to build hoppers.
- High seed hoppers to give a good fall on the hoses when on steep country.
- Either seed hopper can be used so if you aren’t putting on fertilizer then both hoppers can be used for seed therefore doubling your capacity.
- Very easy to remove seed from the hopper /s which can be totally emptied within seconds.
(see Computers Operator manual ‘run to empty)

|
SMALL SEED INSERTS
- Small Seeds inserts have sealed high baffles between each compartment so that you can fill every second or third compartment to give wider spacing when sowing different crops at the same time etc.
- With Small Seed Inserts to both hoppers you have the option of sowing different seeds in alternate rows allowing for different sowing rates.
- Easy to empty and remove.

TYNES
- Taege Trailing Direct Drills have as standard the 12 X 45 Extra Heavy Duty tynes for increased ground and trash clearance. They are arranged in a special configuration and angle to give outstanding results in many applications..
- The tyne is very active in use, shattering the ground to give an excellent tilth.
- Flexible and excellent in rocky conditions and able to move around and over large rocks and obstacles.
- The combination of tyne and tip setup enables the Taege seed drill to penetrate and give good tilth in hard ground conditions much better than other drills in this price bracket and will compete with drills of a much higher price range.
- Trash clearance is excellent because of the tyne movement, spacing and staggering. In live tests against other brands that pride themselves on their trash clearance, the Taege drill stood out as the being best overall.
- Because of the tyne and the tip entry angle, excellent contour following is achieved in varying and uneven ground surfaces.
|
|
TYNE SPACING
- Either 121mm (4 ¾ inch) spacing eliminating the need for cross drilling, giving better coverage, more competition against weeds, or for those who prefer a 150mm (6 inch) spacing is available.
- At 121mm, 23 drops over a 3.00m wide drill and 29 drops over a 3.600m wide drill.
- At 150mm, 21 drops over a 3.00m wide drill and 23 drops over a 3.450m wide drill.
- At 150mm, 25 drops over a 3.600m wide drill and 27 drops over a 4.00m wide drill.

THREE PIECE BOOT/TIPS
- Nihard with a tungsten leading edge.
- Much less diesel used due to the fine tip. A local farmer couldn’t believe how much extra fuel he used in a direct comparison with another make even though it only had 19 drops as opposed to the Taege Seed Drill at 23.
- Less HP required.
- Excellent penetration
- Excellent tilth giving excellent strike rate. For the last 3 years in a row, a Taege Seed drill has won 1st & 2nd prize in the
Malvern District winter feed competition, for the 4th year, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
- 700 to 800 hectares is normal before replacement of tips, contractors say in the stony Canterbury conditions.
- Economic to replace
- Quite moist conditions can be drilled without blockage.

SPONGE SEED METERING
- The PATENTED Sponge seed metering system is very accurate and doesn’t damage the seed.
- It can handle most the types of seed and seed mixes.
- Easy removal of sponge roller bars for cleaning and storage.
|
|
COLLECTOR TRAY
- Collector tray and collectors are close to the sponge, therefore less seed is affected by the wind deflection.
- The sides of the collector are steep so that seed bounce, a problem on steep country is less.
- Seed collector trays slide away to allow for easy calibration and broadcast sowing
- Large deep calibration tray fits under the sponges for very accurate calibration and easy quick clean out between seed types
- Live run calibration is possible if required.

ELECTRONIC DRIVE (see Computer RC300)
- World leading technology.
- Very quick and easy to calibrate
- Very accurate
- Ability to increase or decrease seeding rate on the move from your tractor seat.
- Twenty five calibration settings can be stored per hopper and named as you wish.
- Switch to any of these saved settings and start drilling even without the need to re-calibrate.
- Each crop saved can have an alternate rate programmed so that a second seeding rate can be switched to instantly by the push of a button. This feature is dynamic and excellent when repairing grass grub and bare areas.
- Built in area meter, speedometer, voltmeter and diagnostics.
- Stores the last 5 area resets for each of the twenty five crop settings.
If your computer control is a RC300 software upgrades are available.

TYNE HARROWS (TTH)
- Once fitted to your implement they can be left there due to their versatility.
- When the rear draw bar is lifted the TTH lifts also which allows reversing into corners and easy to transport
- No sideways slippage or roll up occurs on hills when compared with chain type harrows.
- Trash build up is better managed.
- The TTH are normally in 2 pieces, are articulated, pivot up and rotate to allow for better contour following.
- Excellent coverage and levelling is achieved in both cultivated and direct drilling applications.
- When not required they can be lifted out of the way under the tread plate.
- Top mechanical link is an option allowing very light to heavy pressure on tynes to suit ground conditions.
- Taege Tyne Harrows are available for fitting to other makes of drills, cultivators and implements.
